9/26/18 2:00 PM. I was talking to my homeless friend Roy today in Old Town Pasadena. I gave him some bath wipes because he hadn’t been able to afford the $80.00 for a room at Motel 6. He spoke about how miserable he felt from being all sweaty and not being able to wash his clothes. He put some water on his beautiful pit bull to keep her cool. It’s obvious she is loved and well cared for. Roy spoke about how people don’t even look at him, and how being homeless puts him on a cycle of depression. He said that he tries to save money to get room at Motel 6, but other necessities like food keep eating away at his money. Roy mentioned he has a rough week because someone stepped on his chest when he was sleeping, and then he got bit by a recluse spider. I gave him all the change I had and prayed for him. Upon parting, he said softly said “be safe.”
