Join a Service Trip To Latin America
Service trips to Latin America are an incredible way to help our kids and learn about our work at the Casas.
Why Join a Service Trip with Casa Alianza?
Get to know the extraordinary residents, staff, and programs of Casa Alianza Nicaragua, La Alianza in Guatemala, and Casa Alianza Mexico. Experience firsthand the impact of our Casas in their communities and learn how you can contribute to Covenant House’s international work.
Over our 35-year history, the directors of our Casas in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras have become internationally recognized experts in children’s rights, leading advocacy efforts to combat homelessness and human trafficking, while providing critically needed direct multi-disciplinary services. In 2017 alone, 1,000 children ages 12 to 18 resided in our four Casas, and more than 10,000 others received essential services through our community programs, outreach, and anti-trafficking services.
Fundraising and/or Donation
When you sign up for one of our service trips, you agree to become a fundraiser for our critical programs. We ask that all participants commit either to fundraise $3,000 (platform provided by Covenant House) or make a personal contribution of $3,000 to support our life-changing work in Mexico, Nicaragua, or Guatemala.
Travel Logistics
Each service trip member must book and pay for their own plane ticket as well as cover their hotel and food costs. However, a Casa Alianza staff member will book the hotel and take care of ground transportation and related logistics. Approximate travel costs include: Hotel: $110 + tax/night; Airfare: $500-$900; Food: $50-$65/day.

“Cannot express the love and emotion I have experienced coming to Guatemala and meeting our young girls who have escaped trafficking and abuse. These bright, beautiful souls have touched my life in a way I didn’t know was possible!” – Alana Weinroth
“My last day visiting La Alianza was the most incredible. We played soccer, painted a classroom, and joined in a parade. Before leaving we sat with these amazing niñas and their children. I will never forget the time I spent with them, making them smile and laugh, and witnessing how resilient the girls of La Alianza are. Truly an experience of a lifetime.” – Beth Englander
“Still reflecting on the past several days spent with La Alianza’s young girls, who are survivors of rape, sexual trafficking, and sexual abuse. They are children who have been forced to endure violence most adults would never recover from–and yet they endure, they rise, and they help one another heal. Each one is brilliant, funny, intelligent, and fiercely brave in the face of unimaginable horror.” – Megan Malloy
“Last week I traveled to Guatemala to visit our Covenant House there, La Alianza. It’s an amazing place, serving trafficked young girls and their babies. Despite unimaginable tragedy, laughter and song fills the space. The strength of some people in this world is wild. Plus, I competed in the Peek-A-Boo world championship. Spoiler: I won silver.” – Dan Ryan
“I find myself struggling at times to convey the depth of the impact my time with Casa Allianza had on me. I can only say in part that it was one of the most emotionally and spiritually impactful experiences of my life. Against a backdrop of conditions that need to be seen and felt firsthand to be truly understood, the young people of Casa Alianza and the wonderful people who work there to help them hold fast to their faith, their hope, their belief that they can overcome and make a difference. I was humbled to experience it. And it reinforced many times over what was already a strong commitment to the work of Covenant House as a beacon of security for homeless and desperate young people.
I’ll be returning to Latin America in a couple of months, this time joined by my wife, on a service trip to the Covenant House operations in Guatemala. I know it will be another amazing trip, and not my last.” – Gary Dubois
